It’s Beginning to Look a lot like Christmas at Gina K Designs! Release Hop Day One + Giveaway!

Good morning Gina K family!

This week is going to be packed with all sorts of gorgeous inspiration from the design and illustration team, so let’s start off with three beautiful new sets created by Beth, Emily, and Melanie.

For my first card, I used Beth’s new set called “Holiday Trees”. I love how modern these trees are, and how they can be used in many different themed cards.

I used distress oxide inks (the colors are Worn Lipstick and Abandoned Coral) to blend a pretty pink background for the sky. I know pink isn’t a commonly seen sky color, but I quite enjoy being out of the ordinary and creating things out of the ordinary 😉

I stamped the trees with Dusty Rose Gina K Ink, and I really like how that color goes with the two Distress Oxide ink colors I used from Ranger.

I splashed some white gouache on the background to imitate snow, then used my AMAZING Thermoweb Glitter Dust Spray to add sparkle to the whole entire card.

This spray is my go to. My favorite cardmaking supply. My favorite thing ever. (Am I going to far?…… NOPE.) This stuff is phenomenal. It is so sparkly, I just want to spray it all over my walls (though my husband and landlord might not approve 🤫🤭). If life throws you a bad day, just cover it in Thermoweb Glitter Dust. There’s no problem it can’t solve.

(My favorite color is the Iridescent Glitter Spray by the way.)

That perfect glitter is even hard for the iPhone 11 to capture 🤓

Disclaimer… the first time I used this, I held the paper in my hand as I was spraying the Glitter Dust. Don’t do this if you aren’t a fan of having glittery hands for days after. But then again, why wouldn’t you be a fan of that? 😆

For my next project, I made a couple tags using Emily’s and Melanie’s new sets.

I used all those lovely little images in Melanie’s set to create a muted background for one of the tags.

This set is very versatile, but I love it for the purpose of making the background of a card or tag just pop!

Also, to get that Gold shimmer, I really watered down some Nuvo Glacier Paste in the Gold Era color, and splashed it onto the background. It adds so much. Y’all know me. I always have to add something that creates sparkle 🤩🤷🏻‍♀️

I love how this greeting emphasizes “Please do not open until December 25th”… like if I was a kid, even the sacred magic word wouldn’t keep me from peeking at my Christmas presents.

Lastly, I have one more tag to share.

I used the Gina K Stamp Set called “Winter Flower” for this project. I colored it with my Mission Gold Watercolor Paints and used Antique Linen Distress Ink to stamp each floral image.

I love the look of no-line watercolor 😍

I had to get all the angles just in case you missed one 🤣

Yep.

Here’s another one.

Ok y’all, that’s all I have for you for today! Stay tuned for tomorrow morning when I get to share projects I made using my brand new set called “You Warm my Heart”!

Also, comment below to be in the running for a $50 Gift Certificate for Gina K Designs!

Until tomorrow!

(Up next, Arjita! ❤️)

xo,

Han

  8. The Winter Flower tags are drop dead gorgeous!!!!! I have the gold and silver Glitter Dust, but must get me some of that iridescent too!! My fingers and hands are always stained, either by inks or the dies I use to dye yarn, so a little glitter is nooooo problem.
