Good morning again my lovelies!
Long time no see 😉
My newest stamp set, You Warm My Heart, is now available at Gina K Designs. It’s sort of unlike most of my stamp sets, but I really wanted to create a more masculine themed set for all the awesome men in our lives, and even the awesome men crafters out there! This set is versatile for all year around, too!
I was talking to my brother in law once, and as a man crafter living in a paper crafting world of flowers and butterflies, he was craving some manly stamps. So in a way, I dedicate this set to you, Stephen, and every other man who doesn’t care to use tulip and daisy stamps on every card 😆
For my first few samples, I did some Distress Oxide Ink Blending to create the starry sky backgrounds.
I used Picked Raspberry, Wilted Violet, and Black Soot Distress Oxide Ink got my first blend.
I love how clean and simple this one turned out ✨
Those little sequins took a while to clean up after this picture was taken FYI 😁 But it was worth it!
I love this look of this next one, because it reminds me of Polaroid picture.
I didn’t intend it to, however. In actuality, I made a mistake stamping the bottom trees and they ended up looking pretty sad. So I had to them in half 🤷🏻♀️ But I think it looks cool and I choose to embrace my crafting failures 💁🏻♀️😉
The greeting I used is from the new Gina K Kit that we are featuring tomorrow. Stay tuned for that because I have a bunch of fun projects to share 😍
All the rest of my cards featuring my set I choose to watercolor to create soft, peaceful landscapes.
I just used the singular pine trees from my set to create this one.
The blues from Mission Gold are absolutely fantastic. I just can’t get enough of their vibrancy. They are by far the best watercolors I’ve ever tried, and trust me, I’ve tried them all 😁
I used my Dr. PH Martin’s Bleedproof White Opaque Ink to add clouds to this landscape piece. (It’s the same ink I use for all my snow splatters.)
I painted some water towards the bottom to create a mountain scene. I used a dry watercolor brush with varied saturation of paint to create that rough texture for the lake.
My next card is featuring the beautiful new set designed by Lisa, You Being You.
I absolutely love doing hand embroidery, so incorporating that hobby into my cards is just so neat.
I used my colored pencils to color in the hoop, then stamped each of my images onto a separate piece of paper and die cut them to arrange around the hoop.
The colors of GKD Ink I used are Red Velvet, Peach Bellini, and Grass Green. When stamped onto the Kraft Cardstock, I think it makes it look more vintage.
And yes, in case you were wondering, I didn’t color the whole hoop. I cheated and only colored what is visible. The hoop is entirely naked underneath all the flowers and greenery 😁
And that’s a wrap for today! Tomorrow is our last day and I have plenty of things to share with you featuring the HUGE new Gina K Kit.
Don’t forget to comment below to be in the running for the $50 gift certificate for Gina K Designs 😘
(Up next, Cathy Tidwell! ❤️)
