It’s Week THREE, Y’all

How’s everybody doing? I hope this Friday is an amazing one for you. Friday is the best. It is officially Weekend Eve πŸ˜„πŸ₯³πŸŽŠ

Today I’m going to start off by sharing a card I made with the Sew Seasonal Dies.

Yep. I stitched all that. Stitching those little leaves took be back to the early 2000’s when I would hand sew clothes, cute little animals, and pillows. I remember making a large pug pillow once. My mom still has it in a honored place lying askew among her other pillows and blankets. I stayed in my room for a whole day making that pillow. I was a very dedicated child.

I really enjoyed stitching these leaves.

The Uplifting Thoughts Bundle is just beautiful. I love the set, but I really wanted to color those gorgeous leaves and flowers.

So I stamped the leaves in Antique Linen Distress Ink and painted right over them.

They look so lifelike. Like someone just tossed a handful of leaves into the wind πŸ’¨

I then used the same technique on my next card, this time using some fall colors.

Some of my most fondest memories of childhood are when I would rake leaves at my grandma’s house with my siblings and cousins. Although now that I think back, Grandma was most likely just using us to clean up her yard.

Then, for my last card, I stamped out the beautiful flowers in this set with some Gina K Whisper Amalgam Ink and colored over them with my Copic Markers.

I love how they turned out 😍 They almost look like Cherry Blossoms 🌸

I have never done no-line Copic coloring before, so I’m a totally newbie with it. You can judge my work according to that fact 😝 But I loved it!

That’s all for today, lovelies.

Tune in next Friday for the LAST week of inspiration by me and some absolutely talented artists. I have really enjoyed promoting such an amazing company like Concord and 9th and I hope they have many more years of success and happiness πŸ™ŒπŸ½πŸŽ‰πŸŽŠ

Love y’all!

Week 2 of the Concord and 9th Birthday Release!

Hello all!

Today I am going to be sharing card samples used with some gorgeous new autumn sets from Concord and 9th.

The minute I saw this artichoke, I knew it HAD to be watercolored.

It looks good enough to eat 😍

I have actually never eaten an artichoke so I don’t know if I would even want to eat one or like them. My husband didn’t even know what an artichoke was when I asked him. Yeah. We were both homeschooled. #thanksmom

I used the woven plaid stamp to add more interest to the background.

For this next card, I decided to use my Gina K Obsidian Amalgam Ink instead of painting no-line with my Antique Linen Distress Ink.

I created a background by stamping the artichokes a bunch of times and then watercoloring it the same way I did the no-line one.

I also made another watercolored background with the Autumn Harvest Bundle and popped a Simon Says Stamp Die on the bottom.

I just love those autumn colors 😍 I pretty much love everything that has to do with fall. Sweaters, leaves, the colors, scarves, late night bonfires, warm cuddles in bundles of blankets, and most of all because bugs have officially returned to wherever the heck they came from. I love everything EXCEPT the cold. And the idea that winter and snow is coming soon. That’s enough to make anyone depressed.

I then whipped out only two colored pencils and created a very simple background for this next card. I used a brown pencil for the darkest parts and shadows, and an ivory pencil for the highlights.

For this last card, I blended various colored Distress Oxide Inks on two pieces of Gina K Heavy Base Weight White Cardstock and cut the leaves out with the Dies included in the bundle. I splashed some White Gouache on them for added detail.

And that’s a wrap for this Friday! I hope ya’ll enjoyed everything. If you have any questions at all, please feel free to post them in the comments.

See you next week!

Concord and 9th Birthday Release!

This month, Concord & 9th is celebrating FOUR crafty years of business. And today, me and some other fabulous artists are going to celebrate by sharing projects we made with the brand new Confetti Cake Bundle.

You can earn the Cake Layer dies with a purchase of $60 or more, and the Confetti Turnabout with a purchase of $120 or more! I don’t know about y’all, but I could EASILY spend that much at Concord & 9th.

Today, my husband and I are driving home from Tennessee. I designed these cards and took the pictures for them early yesterday morning on the front porch of the cabin we rented in the mountains. So, needless to say, there may be grammar errors, ink smudges, random things that don’t make sense, and bugs that may have found their way into the lens of my camera. There may be some insect photobombs, just sayin’.

For my first project, I used the Cake Dies and the Confetti Turnabout to create this small 4″x4″ card. I was obviously thinking about my husband when I made this because I used all of his favorite colors πŸ˜‰

I may have gone overboard with this next card. But why only have two layers of cake when you can have SIX rainbow layers??

I can’t even imagine all the work it would entail to make a six layer cake. When we were kids, my sister and I decided to make our parents a two layer anniversary cake. Long story short, my parents ended up with no cake that year. Unless you count a leaning pile of “cake” with melted hot frosting dripping everywhere and an ungodly amount of sprinkles – a cake.

We tried πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™€οΈ

Confetti and glitter used to give me happy thoughts associated with celebration and excitement. That was until last Saturday night when my newly wed husband and I climbed into my Subaru to drive away to our hotel for the night. Needless to say, his nine groomsmen really did a number on my poor little Impreza. To say my car was full of glitter would be an understatement. Turning on the air conditioning results in a face-full of glitter, so it goes without saying that I am a puddle of sweat right now.

I don’t think I’ll ever look at glitter the same way again.

Here are my last two cards:

And that is all for today my loves. Please give me a follow on my Instagram @hanlynart to see more from me and get to know me and my crazy little life a little better.

That’s my husband Jesse and I. 😘

Until next week,

When Life Gives You Lemons…

Hello my beautiful lovelies!!!

I would like to provide a quick disclaimer/public service announcement before I continue on with this post…

So if you see any kinds of grammar errors, or ink smudges, or random thoughts that do not make any sense whatsoever, please do not judge me. I have major bride brain which means it is not functioning at the highest level. Thank you for understanding 🀣

(Y’all are probably wondering what my excuse is on all my other posts, huh?)

This month a brand new kit was released, a set of Neony Inks, and a passel of new stamp sets that includes my newest set called “Main Squeeze”. 😍

I am on a specific diet for my health that eliminates anything covered in frosting, drizzled in chocolate, and pretty much anything that has flavor πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™€οΈ (Just kidding, I really make a lot of great stuff homemade so I’m not complaining ❀️) So basically, while other people are eating bowls of triple chocolate ice cream, I’m munching on a hearty carrot stick. However, I would always prefer a big bowl of juicy, colorful fruit.

I used the Electro Pop Inks to create a SUPER neony card. I love how vibrant this turned out!! Like seriously. Zoom in on that poppy ink and your eyes will thank me later.

Y’all know my watercolor obsession, and even though this is an ink layering set, I couldn’t help bring out my watercolors and make a messy background.

And no, your eyes are not deceiving you. The strawberries don’t have leaves on their tops. Please refer to the beginning of this blog post.

Yep. I had to watercolor again πŸ˜πŸ’πŸ»β€β™€οΈ

I combined Alicia’s gorgeous greenery to create a lemon branch on this card. I have always wanted a fruit tree right in my backyard. It would be like having a money tree but WAY BETTER.

There are a lot of little intricate sections in this flower, so I had to pull out my super tiny Princeton brush to watercolor this card. The hairs on that brush are so small that they must have been plucked from the head of a Pygmy Shrew.

And here is my last card! Such a pretty bouquet πŸ₯°

That’s all she wrote, folks.

I’m headed off to get my nails done πŸ’…πŸ½ Hopefully she can rescue them from the many ink and paint stains.

I’ll make sure to share TONS of pictures from the wedding as soon as I can. I love you all!!

Until next month,

Han 😘

Gina K and Ink on 3 Collab!

Hello again my lovelies!

I hope you are all well and doing wonderfully on this beautiful July day. I am LOVING this hot 90 degree Wisconsin weather. Even though it’s humid as heck and I can feel my hair frizzing and my mascara melting down my face as soon as I open the doors to the outside world, I couldn’t be happier.

My fiancΓ© and I and my sister and her husband all just got back from a trip to Minnesota for 2019 Junkie Fest. It was wonderful talking to other highly addicted people who don’t judge you for purchasing a surplus of art supplies that you know for a fact you don’t need because you are fully aware that you have bags of new stuff at home that you’ve never opened. Anyone else have a “fear” of cracking open new stamp sets? πŸ™‹πŸ»β€β™€οΈ And having that horrifying realization that they will never be the same after you’ve inked them up with your favorite Cherry Red or Jet Black ink? Yeah. I have unrealistic fears.

Our assignment for this Blog Hop – should we have chosen to accept it – was to create two cards using two lovely stamp sets from Gina K and Ink on 3.

This is the card I created with the gorgeous “Vibrant Blooms” Stamp set from Gina K.

I colored it using Prismacolor Colored Pencils and I love how vintage-looking it turned out 😍

I love these lips. They literally look like your cheek after your grandma comes over and lays a great big one on you at Christmas-time. πŸ’‹

That Red Velvet Gina K Ink is so potent and vibrant 🀩

I used the Bad and Boujee stamp set from Ink on 3 for this one. I still have no idea what that means. Yes, I am 20 years old and I have no idea what Bad and Boujee means. I do not identify as a millennial. Because I don’t think there is any millennial in the universe that doesn’t know how to save a photo to iCloud. Like. What even is iCloud??? Help.

So that is all the inspiration I have for you beauties today! Check back later this month because I have a BRAND NEW stamp set coming!! I am obsessed with it and I hope y’all are too.

Oh and also…

25% off in my Etsy Shop right now!!! I did it as a special for my beautiful friend Kathy Racoosin, the coloring QUEEN πŸ‘‘πŸ˜˜ She’s gorgeous and amazing and wonderful so go check her out and her fantastic coloring because you will be literally jaw dropped and mind blown all at once 🀯 – That will be you.

My newly released products are 5×7 and 8.5×11 Coloring Floral Panels in Kraft and White are also on sale!

Here are some samples I colored…

Kathy did this one…

Yep. Feel free to drool all over your screen cause that’s what I did when I first saw this.

My adorable fiancΓ© Jesse colored this one. I’m like a proud mother πŸ˜πŸ™ŒπŸ½

Gina K June Release Day TWO! And You Guessed it, There’s a Giveaway πŸ˜

Yay!!! Today is Whimsical Wildflower Frame day! I can’t wait to show y’all everything I have been working on.

This stamp set was so much fun to create. There are so many versatile greetings in it too! There is one for your friend or significant other, weddings or anniversary’s, birthdays, encouragement, and thinking of you too!

This frame is soooo much fun to color.

I used my Prismacolor Pencils to color in the frame on this card. This probably took me around 3 hours to finish, but I think it was worth the massive hand cramp I experienced afterwards.

I love that you can even just stamp it on the front of an A2 size card front and your card is finished!

I stamped the frame around the border of a Kraft piece of Cardstock for this card. You don’t even need to color it. The line art looks beautiful on its own 😍

I did an emboss resist technique with Peach Bellini Ink on this one. It looks so elegant, and perfect for a wedding card. Just switch up the ink color to match the bride and groom’s wedding colors!

(Side note… my wedding day is officially 58 DAYS AWAY… and I’m officially freaking out 😍 When I cry at my wedding, it will because I’m overjoyed that the planning is finally over πŸ˜‚)

I also have some projects to share with the new Ocean Minded Mini Kit. I love the ocean. Well, not that I’ve ever been to an actual ocean. I live in Wisconsin. Which means we have Lake Michigan. Which means we have basically a massive drainage pond where people toss garbage and crap (literally) into its very non-clear, murky waters. But in Wisconsin we do have some gorgeous lakes and landmarks outside of the Milwaukee area. I’m a country girl, so any kind of lake and mud with a truck or four-wheeler is up my alley πŸ‘πŸ½πŸ€

And yes. I found out yesterday that I stamped the water backwards. But I am ok with it because it is art and if art was perfect it wouldn’t be art. (That is just a lame, poetic excuse lol. I just didn’t pay attention during the tutorial apparently haha.)

And of course I had to use the Lifechanging Brushes for this inky blend yet again because they are indeed the most amazing things that will literally change your crafty little life.

(The GKD Ink Pad colors are Wild Dandelion and Tangerine Twist)

I love this cute little beach scene 😍 I must admit though, this is probably the fourth edition I made of this same exact card. Every other card the blend wasn’t right, or the ink smeared, or I was just being an obsessively compulsive crafty maniac. I decided to stop at four and accept this card as the winner to not feed my fanatical perfectionism any further.

Well, I hope you all enjoyed the Hop today! Thanks for following along, and for your wonderful comments and faithful support.

My wedding bills thank you for purchasing “Whimsical Wildflower Frame”.

Love you all!!!
