September Release Day Two!

Hello lovelies πŸ₯°

Today is the last day for our little release this month. Next month we will have some new and festive Christmas sets for you all to enjoy. I got to design one and I hope y’all will love it ❀️

I love sunflowers. I know that the florals in the first set are coneflowers, but I wanted to color them to look like one of my favorite flowers 🌻

I love this bright bouquet of florals. I used a greeting from my stamp set, “Majestic Peony” because I love how elegantly it finished off this card.

Then I colored another Santana Rose because, why not? πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™€οΈ

That orange just POPS ✨🍊

The Santana Rose set is free with any $75 purchase at Gina K Designs. It’s super easy to spend that much at Gina’s store, so it should be a piece of cake 😘

Well, that’s all I have for today! Remember to comment below to be in the running for a $50 Gift Certificate for Gina K Designs!

Have a lovely day ☺️

September Release for Gina K and a NEW Stamp Set by ME

Good morning y’all!

So much has happened since our last release!

The most important thing though is that I got MARRIED to my best friend!!!! 😍

Here are some wedding photos we just got back πŸ₯°

When you get that good kiss…

you can’t help but smile πŸ˜‰

Just look at this handsome man 😘

His smile melts my heart πŸ₯°

Last night was a great Facebook live and I really enjoyed sharing my projects, and some of the story behind my new stamp set, Majestic Peony.

I actually drew this peony bouquet a few years back when I was designing products for my old Etsy shop. This past year, when I launched my new Etsy shop, I shrunk the floral down and made it into a 5×7 colorable print. I brought a bunch of them to Junkie Fest this year and when Kathy Racoosin saw it, she said that it HAD to be a stamp. I don’t know about you, but when Kathy Racoosin says she wants something to be a stamp, you provide her her stamp.

So we did! And here we have it for all of y’all to enjoy and I hope you do!

My lovely sister Emily designed a gorgeous set this month called Happy Fall. She also just so happened to have given birth to a beautiful baby boy and my sweet nephew, Noah, this past weekend.

She was radiant as a pregnant woman despite what she may have felt at the time. She was a total rockstar for standing up in my wedding as my Maid of Honor and being 9 months pregnant. She may have felt like a beached whale, but she certainly didn’t look it πŸ˜‰

Anyway, here is my first card!

I colored it with my Copic Markers. This floral is so simple to color because it’s so big!

I also colored the peony with my Zig Markers.

Both of those cards are 5×7 size. The greetings I used are from the new Gina K Kit. The large “forever” just fit so perfectly with this big ole card.

And then, I colored it with my Mission Gold Watercolors.

I heat embossed it first and then colored it in. If you are new at coloring and are bad at coloring in the lines (like me πŸ™„), then Embossing it first really helps with that. I popped in a little greeting from the Kit and it was done! The colors remind me so much of fall πŸ‚πŸ

I love Emily’s new set with all the gorgeous autumn greetings.

I colored the new incentive set with my Copics and used one of Emily’s greetings. I may be biased, but her hand lettering style is the best I’ve ever seen πŸ₯°

And that’s all the inspiration for today! We’ll be back tomorrow for more 😘 Comment below to be in the running for a $50 Gift Card for Gina K Designs!

More Sparkles and Glitter!

Good morning everyone!

I am currently writing this on the floor of my new apartment at 12 o’clock at night. We don’t have any couches currently and my husband is sleeping soundly in our bed. He says the light doesn’t bother him, but I’m sure the sound of my exasperation’s when technology doesn’t work may slightly annoy 🀣

Today, Thermoweb and Gina K Designs are releasing some pretty AMAZING, not to mention very SPARKLY things ✨ Sparkle just makes everything right. It completes a card like French Fries complete vanilla ice cream 🍟🍦=😍

I love this Christmas set. The beautiful snowflake stencil on the side is just perfect for blending a soft background.

I decided to do just that with this card. I blended two Distress Oxide Colors (the names are escaping me πŸ˜‚) and splashed some water on the paper afterwards for a unique look. I then took the White Glitz Glitter Gel and used that pretty snowflake stencil and covered the whole circle with it. I just love how clean and simple it turned out, and that POP of red for the banner. Red is my all time favorite color, with blue being a close second β€οΈπŸ’™

Next, I made a card with the ornament stamp.

The green and gold together is so traditional, but with the blue background, I think it brings in a modern twist. I love how you can make many different style ornaments with just the one stamp!

That gold though… 🀩😍

I just had to make a bouquet out of those poinsettias and all that lovely greenery in this set 😍

One of the poinsettias got a little smushy because your girl is VERY impatient and couldn’t wait any longer to die cut it out. But I suppose I learned my lesson πŸ˜„ (But, I will admit though that I did proceed to cut out all the rest immediately following that incident.)

I had soo many ideas with this amazing set. But, as forgetful as you all know I am, I forgot to buy some brown Gina K Ink Cubes on my last trip to the store. So I had literally no brown. But I will make those as soon as I get some brown ink. I swear I’d forget my head if it weren’t attached.

So then I just made this card. I love how fun it turned out. The colors are so fun and they pop so well against the white. If you don’t have any Glitter Gel, you could still make beautiful cards with this set by just using ink.

Gotta get all those angles, am I right? 😘

Well that’s it for today, guys!

I’m going to be back next week for the new release at Gina K Designs where I get to show y’all my new set!! I can’t wait! ❀️

It’s the Final Week!

I have really enjoyed creating with such gorgeous products that Concord and 9th released this month. It was such an honor and so much fun to work with such amazing designs.

Today is the final week! I hope y’all had fun this month and I don’t know about you, but I’m SO EXCITED to see what fantastic things Concord and 9th will release in September.

But in the meantime (while we *patiently* wait for that day to come), I have a bunch of cards to share with you guys using the cute Sweater Weather Turnabout Bundle and the Friendship Farms Bundle.

With the Friendship Farms Bundle, I made a bunch of cute little cards that I will probably use for tags on gifts! The die that comes in the bundle is just perfect for that.

This tag makes me super excited for fall. I told my husband that we must go apple picking because I’ve never been. Hopefully they will look as pretty as they do on this card πŸ™ˆ

Then, I created a couple cards with the Sweater Weather Bundle.

I’m always cold, so sweater weather for me is all year round πŸ˜‚

The inks I used are from Gina K Designs and the colors are Tranquil Teal, Prickly Pear, Soft Stone, and Plum Punch. I love how unique of an autumn color palette this is πŸ‚

And here is the final card I made for this week!

I colored in the stamp with my Prismacolor Colored Pencils. It took some time, but I think the end result was worth it πŸ˜„

Also, this poor little guy was sacrificed in the making of this card. RIP PC 109.

Thank you all so much for following along with me all month. Follow me on Instagram @hanlynart to keep up with me crazy adventure of a life!

Have a great day! ❀️

It’s Week THREE, Y’all

How’s everybody doing? I hope this Friday is an amazing one for you. Friday is the best. It is officially Weekend Eve πŸ˜„πŸ₯³πŸŽŠ

Today I’m going to start off by sharing a card I made with the Sew Seasonal Dies.

Yep. I stitched all that. Stitching those little leaves took be back to the early 2000’s when I would hand sew clothes, cute little animals, and pillows. I remember making a large pug pillow once. My mom still has it in a honored place lying askew among her other pillows and blankets. I stayed in my room for a whole day making that pillow. I was a very dedicated child.

I really enjoyed stitching these leaves.

The Uplifting Thoughts Bundle is just beautiful. I love the set, but I really wanted to color those gorgeous leaves and flowers.

So I stamped the leaves in Antique Linen Distress Ink and painted right over them.

They look so lifelike. Like someone just tossed a handful of leaves into the wind πŸ’¨

I then used the same technique on my next card, this time using some fall colors.

Some of my most fondest memories of childhood are when I would rake leaves at my grandma’s house with my siblings and cousins. Although now that I think back, Grandma was most likely just using us to clean up her yard.

Then, for my last card, I stamped out the beautiful flowers in this set with some Gina K Whisper Amalgam Ink and colored over them with my Copic Markers.

I love how they turned out 😍 They almost look like Cherry Blossoms 🌸

I have never done no-line Copic coloring before, so I’m a totally newbie with it. You can judge my work according to that fact 😝 But I loved it!

That’s all for today, lovelies.

Tune in next Friday for the LAST week of inspiration by me and some absolutely talented artists. I have really enjoyed promoting such an amazing company like Concord and 9th and I hope they have many more years of success and happiness πŸ™ŒπŸ½πŸŽ‰πŸŽŠ

Love y’all!

Week 2 of the Concord and 9th Birthday Release!

Hello all!

Today I am going to be sharing card samples used with some gorgeous new autumn sets from Concord and 9th.

The minute I saw this artichoke, I knew it HAD to be watercolored.

It looks good enough to eat 😍

I have actually never eaten an artichoke so I don’t know if I would even want to eat one or like them. My husband didn’t even know what an artichoke was when I asked him. Yeah. We were both homeschooled. #thanksmom

I used the woven plaid stamp to add more interest to the background.

For this next card, I decided to use my Gina K Obsidian Amalgam Ink instead of painting no-line with my Antique Linen Distress Ink.

I created a background by stamping the artichokes a bunch of times and then watercoloring it the same way I did the no-line one.

I also made another watercolored background with the Autumn Harvest Bundle and popped a Simon Says Stamp Die on the bottom.

I just love those autumn colors 😍 I pretty much love everything that has to do with fall. Sweaters, leaves, the colors, scarves, late night bonfires, warm cuddles in bundles of blankets, and most of all because bugs have officially returned to wherever the heck they came from. I love everything EXCEPT the cold. And the idea that winter and snow is coming soon. That’s enough to make anyone depressed.

I then whipped out only two colored pencils and created a very simple background for this next card. I used a brown pencil for the darkest parts and shadows, and an ivory pencil for the highlights.

For this last card, I blended various colored Distress Oxide Inks on two pieces of Gina K Heavy Base Weight White Cardstock and cut the leaves out with the Dies included in the bundle. I splashed some White Gouache on them for added detail.

And that’s a wrap for this Friday! I hope ya’ll enjoyed everything. If you have any questions at all, please feel free to post them in the comments.

See you next week!
